Harun orphanage centre

This is a registered charity organisation based in Uganda. It was founded in 2017 by Haruna Mwanje a citizen of Uganda.

Mission

To improve the lives of volunarable kids through ;

  • Feedings
  • Education
  • Offering shelter
  • Medication and others basic needs of life.
  • Fight against child abuse in the community
  • Educating the public about family planning and birth control methods.

About the orphanage

There are 43 kids at the orphanage of which 33 are orphans, 8 were dropped by their parents and found on streets, 2 are disabled.

Among the 43 kids,37 go to school and the 6 haven’t started learning yet.

As you all know that food is the first hope to an hungry kid, I spend about 20 euros everyday to feed the 43 kids at the orphanage,and sometimes we miss meals due to lack of money to buy food.

Every term we have to pay between 15 to 25 euros school fees for each kid.

We also rent 3 rooms where the 43 kids sleep and we pay 80 euros monthly for rent. We hope to build our permanent home with your support

Future plans

  • Constructing a permanent home for the kids.
  • Building a school for the kids at the orphanage and the general community.
  • Building a medical centre to offer treatment to the kids and the community

Background of the orphanage

The orphanage was founded in 2017 by Haruna Mwanje.

About Haruna Mwanje

I studied upto secondary level but I couldn’t afford to go to the university. I started teaching needy kids in my community who were not able to go to school. During that period I discovered that there was a number of needy kids and orphans who couldn’t afford to go to school.

I decided to help them, and rent a room. I started with 8 kids of which 6 were orphans and the 2 were street kids.
